The CXL courses are extensive but simple, most of the lessons you’ll learn are the ones that marketers already should follow.

But there are a lot of tactics out there that marketers blindly follow without a deeper understanding of how it affects their customers and the business they are working on.

CRO is focused on finding issues your users experience on your website and making sure your customers have a wonderful experience.

The 8th week of the CRO mini degree for me was revising what I already learned and creating more notes for me to pass the exam.

When I went back to revise the lessons there are some things I missed which I shouldn’t have.

One tip that I could share is to take an extra hour each day to create a blog post of the things you’ve learned that day.

Then go back and review the lesson again to see what have you missed.

The CXL team is great and my overall experience was very happy.

I can definitely say that the mini degree is worth the time and money if you don’t get applied to a scholarship program.

Most of the time I had trouble explaining to people what I do as a digital marketer.

Now, it will be easier as I have also found an answer for me.

I dabbled with everything in marketing but now I can definitely say that I’m making a better experience for users.

I remember telling a friend that I do marketing and he said: “So, you’re spamming people.”

A lot of people that are not familiar with marketing will say the same because of the bad experience they had from PPC ads.

Marketing gets a bad reputation because everyone can do marketing but not everyone can do it the way it should be done.

I’m still learning and can’t say that I can do it properly.

It’s all about the user. If you put focus on a user and making sure he gets a good experience, you won’t have an issue.

In CXL CRO Minidegree, you’ll learn a lot about psychology and neuromarketing and how users behave in the real world. The way they behave in the real world is the same as they would in the “online world”

Our brain stayed the same for thousands of years when it comes to our “primitive” brain. But over the course of years and development, we tend to want things now and get instant gratification. It’s how we are trained.

If you can help the user achieve it and get a reward from it, he’ll have a great experience.

Not only that, you need to be aware of the colors on your website and typography to make sure users have an easy time reading the content on your website.

Images are important as we use images to make better connections and create a better understanding.

When writing a copy, read different books on persuasion. Most of the things have not changed and are the same.

I remember optimizing a website for a better user experience without knowledge of CRO. I read about it a bit and wanted to try new things.

There was a hypothesis that I wanted to test which was easy to implement and I shared it to my manager along with extensive research confirming my hypothesis.

When I wanted to test it I got a hard NO... Because that research is 7 years old.

Now, it doesn’t matter if it’s 7 or 12 years old because most of the topics about how our brain works are the same.

Most likely we are not going to fully understand how our brain works and there are new things to discover, but fundamentals remained the same.

The research is there, you just need to use it.

The team at CXL is great at this. They teach you how to understand your users and how to create a better user experience.

For me, they are industry standards and what everyone should follow.

Of course, they have other mini degrees but the main point of CRO is optimizing a website for a better user experience.

This is my 8th week on this review and I’ve come along pretty well and even if I don’t pass this exam I’ll go away with a better understanding of how marketing should be.

The course lecturers are amazing. I’m most happy with Peep.

For some reason, I resonate with him better and I love his character and the way he teaches.

Other lecturers are also amazing such as Momoko Price with Product Messaging course where she explains things in great detail and you can see how happy she is teaching you this stuff.

Chris Mercer and the way he explains this with Google Analytics so it’s easy for everyone to understand.

I’ve been following CXL for a very long time now and considered them a top standard in marketing.

The reason I decided to take on CRO lessons is that I simply love finding issues. The first thing that I’d always do when working with a client is check everything they have and find ways to improve it.

Doesn’t matter if it’s a website, email funnel, or PPC.

Initially, I was doing SEO, a few years in I got a job at a SaaS company. Each time after work I’d sat down and read about SaaS businesses and how to market them.

I remember the second week in which I went on to Email marketing and trying to improve it. We saw a bit of an increase in click rates and I was happy because of that accomplishment.

Until I learned that that’s good but I haven’t tracked all of the metrics, such as what did the user do once he clicked on the email. Did he bought, did he accomplished the task we asked him to, etc.

These are all the things you’ll learn with CXL. If you have experience in marketing, you’ll know what things will work on different websites without the need of researching or testing them.
